What is Take2? Nipper News

Take2 is a Suite of Student Management Software for New Zealand Tertiary Education Providers who need a low cost, effective database that will allow them to meet the compliance requirements of government agencies.

Take2 is designed for private training providers and tertiary education institutions and is in use by organisations with tens of thousands of students, through to organisations with fewer than a hundred students.

Take2 was the first software certified by the Ministry of Education for Single Data Returns. Certified by NZQA for FDC Returns


Take2 uses Microsoft Office and so readily exchanges data with Microsoft Word or Excel. Most Take2 reports can be output to Word and many to Excel. By having all this in a single, easy-to-use system, you will save time and improve the accuracy of your student records.

Meta Office is now working with PEPi Systems!!!
  We are pleased to announce that Meta Office is now working with PEPi Systems, an Australian company, to offer our existing Take2 users a Student Portal product. A copy of a media release on the topic is available here.

This is a web-based tool that is connected to a Take2 database. It allows students to view and update their contact details and to view their enrolment and outcome data online. The Student Portal will be available in early 2009.

Later in 2009 we aim to offer Take2 users to opportunity to upgrade to a new Take2 product, powered by the PEPi framework.

This student management system provides a browser-based product in a flexible .NET framework that has the capacity to be both hosted and installed onsite. More information on these products will be released in early 2009 and, in the meantime, if you have any questions please feel free to contact us in the usual way.

Take2 version 10.2.1 is the second major release in the version 10 series. It incorporates a number of enhancements that have been requested by our clients and it has been certified by the Ministry of Education for the 2010 SDR.

Note: Version 10.2.1 can be used for the December 2009 SDR and for all 2010 SDR rounds.

Compatability - Take2 will run on a wide variety of PCs. It also generates information that is compatible with Word and Excel.
Regular Updates - Take2 is regularly updated, to keep up to date with changes that are introduced by NZQA, TEC & MOE. The new TEC Electronic Receipting System (ERS) interface has recently been implemented.
