The Leading System
Take2 is New Zealand’s leading student management system. First released in 1999 Take2 is now in use by over 170 training providers ranging from organisations with tens of thousands of students to organisations with fewer than 100.
Take2 was the first student management system to be certified by the Ministry of Education as Single Data Return compliant. That certification has been renewed every year since.
Take2 is a carefully designed student information management system built using Microsoft Access 2000. The product runs on standard PCs and will also operate over a network to support multiple users.
Installing Take2 is very simple – just insert the CD and follow the instructions on the screen – and loading upgrades of Take2 is also very easy. No site visits from Meta Office are required to install Take2, and no messy database engines clutter up your desktop.
Our goal in designing the Take2 product has been to try and simplify some quite complex administrative processes, and to ensure that a provider can perform record keeping and data reporting functions at a sufficiently high level to meet all quality standards. Our user documentation contains flow charts and diagrams to explain specific processes and, when using Take2, the user is often prompted through complex tasks by the system.
As Take2 is written with Access you will find that you are easily able to make use of your own data because, being part of the Microsoft Office suite, Access data can be read by Word (for mail merge) and by Excel. You can even develop you own Access queries and reports to sit on top of the Take2 database.
This is an important consideration and one to bear in mind when evaluating a student management system. It can be very frustrating to buy a system and enter a lot of data, only to find that it cannot produce the special reports that you need and there is no way of building the report yourself.
From March 2002 a SQL Server edition of Take2 has been available for larger providers. This is particularly suited to providers with multiple branches, many concurrent users, and large student numbers.
